The Reading Passport: Books set in Manitoba

Manitoba is the center of Canada, at least geographically speaking. The province contains more than 100,00 lakes, two of which are Lake Winnipeg and Little Limestone Lake (which changes color according to the temperature). Winnipeg, the province's capital, also has two famous literary connections: the character who inspired James Bond was born and raise in this city, and Winnie-the-Pooh was inspired by a black bear cub named after the city. The following books will let you glimpse into Manitoba, the "gloriosus et liber" (glorious and free).
