Millions of people visit Florida every year looking for fun and sun. With the many amusement parks and sandy beaches in the state, this should not be surprising. What maybe many of these visitors don't know is that Clearwater is the city with the highest rate of lightning strikes in the U.S., that Key West has more bars per capita than any other city in the country, that the first suntan lotion was invented in 1944 by a pharmacist in Miami Beach, and that the first ATM machines were installed in Miami to serve rollerbladers.
