Georgia, one of the original 13 colonies, is full of southern charm and hospitality. The capitol dome of "The Peach State" is covered in gold, fitting, since the first gold rush in the US happened in Georgia. The state is home to The Varsity, the world's largest drive-in restaurant, spanning two blocks in Atlanta. Atlanta is also the birthplace of Coca-Cola, invented by pharmacist John S. Pemberton in 1886. If you are more of a wine drinker, North Georgia wine has gained adepts lately, with wineries in the region that are worth trying.
